Backing up a Mapped Drive

If you need to back up a Network File Server and cannot install the Backup Software on the server (e.g. NAS Storage Appliance or non-Windows Server), you can instead run the Backup Client on a workstation with a mapped network drive pointing to the server. In this case, simply select the folders on the network drive for backup.

By default, the software will not allow you to back up network drives. One way to access the network drives is to run the software as an application. You can also access the network drives with the software running as a service, but you will need to create a batch file that connects the network drives when the service starts.
