Each month you will receive an email from KineticD about the status of your backup account. There are 4 sections to this email:
- Old systems:
This is a list of all systems in the account with its status. The status is “Old System” if it has not checked in to the service in the past 30 days or “Ok” if it has.
If it is an “Old System”, but you would like to continue to have it backed up, please go to System is not backing up to resolve this issue.
If you no longer need the “Old System” being backed up, then you can delete the systems by logging in to your account using the web portal. Click on My Data and under “Inactive System”, check the white box next to the systems that you would like to delete and select delete at the top.
- Accounts not activated:
This is a list of all users in the account with their status. The status is “Not Activated” if the user has not activated and “Ok” if they have.
To activate the account of the “Not Activated” users, please follow the instructions at Alert Email
- Software not installed:
This is a list of all users in the account with their status. The status is “Not Installed” if the user has activated but has not installed the software yet and “Ok” if they have.
If you have activated your account but have not yet installed the software, you can follow this procedure to install it on your computer:
- Logon to the web portal using your username and password.
- Click on the Download button on the top navigation bar.
- Click on the link to download the application.
- Follow the instructions given by the Install Shield Wizard. Choose ‘typical install’ and in a few minutes, the download will be complete.
- During the installation process, you will be asked to select some popular folders for backup, such as your Documents and Outlook Email folders. If you do not wish to back them up, simply uncheck the appropriate boxes.
